Unforgettable Birthday Card

I just love the trend lately of the long skinny cards that fit into the standard size business envelopes. Especially for scenes like this one today, because it allows for the background of clouds to blend more gradually.

To create my cloud background I used a Lawn Fawn puffy cloud die to cut out a few different sizes of cloud borders and then used it as a stencil to blend my distress oxide inks over, starting with a light colour at the bottom and working my way up with a darker colour.

My sightseeing monkey in the air balloon is from Mama Elephant 'Mini Monkey Agenda' and the air balloon is from WPlus9 'Up in the Air'. My sentiment is from WPlus9 'unforgettable' stamp set.

When I see an Elephant fly

This card is too funny, with the poor elephant flying through the air all bug-eyed! I tried a few different things out with this card and will admit I don't think all of the features belong together.

My background was created using Distress Oxide Inks and a stencil cloud border created with Lawn Fawn cloud die. My balloons are also from Lawn Fawn and are in the 'party balloon' die set. My first mistake was the water colouring of the balloons for this card. The colours are not as vibrant as the background and visibly just do not belong.

My elephant is from WPlus9 ' unforgettable' stamp set and I also water coloured him. The watercolour just doesn't belong here on this card, but maybe on a more soft toned background.

Well, you always have to learn new things, so I think I learned my lesson on this one!

I used my Cricut machine to cut out the Happy Birthday sentiment out of white cardstock, and the stamped sentiment is from WPlus9 stamp set 'unforgettable'.

Purrfect Purrthday

Celebrating a very happy purrthday with the kitties during this lockdown. I will always have my furry friends to celebrate with even though it may seem lonely.

Here is my card using a Mama Elephant stamp set and a fun paper design.

Stay safe and healthy out there!

Sweet little baby card

This sweet baby card was made for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge 'Oh baby'.

The Lawn Fawn products used in this card are the Balloon die cuts, called 'birthday balloons', and the cloud dies 'simple puffy clouds', and the stitched cloud border, which was also used to stencil the background. The sentiment is from Altenew 'baby zoo' and the Elephant is from Wplus9 ' unforgettable'.

For a Friend

Here is a lovely card I made just to send to someone ' Just because'. I used a great cat image for the kitty in the window from Newtons Nook set called 'Furr-ever Friends'.

The window die set is from My Favorite Things, and the stencil is as well.

For the curtains and the wall paper on the inside of the window i used some coral and mint papers that I had around the house to fit with the Netwon's Nook challenge theme this week.

Naughty Newton Birthday

Newton from 'Newtons Nook' Stamps is just so mischievous and is always up to something. This birthday card has Newton knocking over the flower pots. Typical cat. The stamp is from the stamp set 'Naughty Newton'.

The background was created using My Favorite Things brick wall stencil and distress oxide ink. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Stretching my Stamps

For this card, I had to edit the stamp a little bit. I wanted to use my Newton's Nook 'Naughty Newton' stamp to show a kitty holding up some balloons. This stamped image would have had the scratch marks showing a naughty kitty ripping the furniture. On my card I wanted him to be a good kitty, so once I stamped my image and die cut it with the corresponding die, I cut off the top where the extra bit of the image would be (that I didn't want).

Now, I can glue the balloon string underneath his paws to look just like he was holding them up, or he was flying away into the sky!

The background stencil is from My Favorite Things, and I used distress oxide inks in a few different colours to go with the balloons.

Quirky Birthday Card

I would have a good chuckle if someone made this card for me! This is a Newton's Nook stamp called 'Naughty Newton' and is so funny for a birthday card. Wouldn't that just be too typical of some of those devious cats to leave you a present in the litter box on your birthday.

I used Lawn Fawn 'party balloon' stencils and distress oxide inks for the background, and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Up!

This kitty is in for a wild ride up into the clouds for a birthday flight using some balloons! I hope the kitty is not afraid of heights!

The balloons were die cut using paint swatches from my neighbourhood hardware store, which I find the BEST for using bright vibrant colours for balloons and small objects without breaking the bank and purchasing all sorts of different coloured cardstocks. The dies are from Lawn Fawn called 'party balloons' and my kitty is from My Favorite Things 'I knead you'.

I used the Lawn Fawn stitched clouds die cut to create a stencil for my cloud background, which I then used Distress Oxide inks to blend together to create my vibrant sky.

Picture Purrfect

This is another card for the Lawn Fawnatics Sketch Challenge. For this card I used the Lawn Fawn Picture Frame dies, and the kitties from the 'Meow you Doin' stamp set. My sentiment is from Avery Elle 'Furry Friends' stamp set.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, and I hope you are staying safe out there!

Lawn Fawn Sketch Inspiration

I was able to use some inspiration from a Lawn Fawnatics Challenge this week to use my new stamp set from them called 'Get well before and afters'. During this pandemic I think we will need to create many 'get well' cards for our friends and family. Who knows how long we will be living like this.

I love using cute little sayings on my cards to make someone smile, and I hope it can make someone who is not feeling well feel uplifted and hopeful.

"Wooly" Happy Card

I love this cute 'Prehistoric' stamp set from Neat and Tangled stamps. It is so much fun to colour. I used Spectrum Noir markers in BG2 and BG4 for the wooly mammoth.

The background is coloured using Ken Oliver Color Burst watercolor pigments and are really cool, and give your card designs a different look each time.
